Spurs set to raid Rangers to appoint chief scout Andy Scoulding – Mike McGrath

Spurs are set to raid Rangers to appoint their chief scout Andy Scoulding this summer, according to Mike McGrath on Thursday afternoon [09 June].

The Telegraph journalist has reported that Scoulding will leave to join the Premier League club at the end of this month, bringing his time at Ibrox to an end.

The chief scout first made the move to Glasgow back in 2017 under Steven Gerrard after working at Liverpool, Valencia and Fulham throughout his career.

It is said to be a major change for Scoulding.

Spurs chief Fabio Paratici has been looking to add to his backroom team under Antonio Conte, and it is reported that Scoulding will not be joining as part of a recruitment team.

This is not great news for the Bears, who have seen a real reshuffle at Ibrox already.

Head doctor Mark Waller has already agreed to leave for a move to the Premier League, with Leicester swooping in get their man, according to John Percy.

Exodus.

Ross Wilson will have been expecting a busy summer at Ibrox, but more in the sense of players coming in and out with huge transfer news.

Instead of that, it appears that he will be on the lookout for a new backroom team entirely, with two of his most likely trusted colleagues moving south of the border.

Scoulding is said to have helped Wilson rebuild the club during his time at Ibrox, with the run to the Europa League final evidence of that in the 2021-22 season.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could help with replacing these key figures and will have people he has worked closely with over the past that could come in.

One thing for sure is that there is a completely new look set for behind the scenes at Auchenhowie and Ibrox moving into next season, and let’s hope that this proves to be a positive change down the line.
