Signing West Ham youngster Emmanuel Longelo will be right move for Rangers
Rangers are interested in signing West Ham United’s young left-back Emmanuel Longelo in the summer transfer window, according to the Sun.
The Gers finished runners-up in the Scottish Premiership as well as the Europa League in the recently concluded season and are now eager to make additions to their side to attain their title objectives.
It is because of this reason they are keen on making a move for the 21-year-old but they are facing competition from recently promoted Bournemouth.

As things stand, the 21-year-old, who has just made two senior team appearances, has a contract with the Hammers till the summer of 2023.

Rangers star full-back Calvin Bassey has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window with the likes of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace leading the chase.
Therefore, it makes a lot of sense for the Gers to find a young prospect who could prove to be a long-term replacement of the Nigeria international and Longelo seems to be a perfect candidate for such a role.
Just like Bassey, the English full-back is young and would play across every competition for the Europa League runners up.
Despite making his debut against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League last season, the 21-year-old has struggled for regular gametime in the first team under David Moyes.
Therefore, a move to Rangers would be perfect for his evolution, especially looking at how Bassey developed at the Ibrox Stadium after moving from Leicester City.
In the 2021-22 U23s, the young full-back scored a goal and provided five assists in 18 appearances. [Transfermarkt]
In other Rangers news, this goalkeeper has been tipped by Sky Sports to be the new first-choice at Ibrox.
