Rangers defender Borna Barisic leaves door open to Ibrox exit
Borna Barisic played the majority of games for Rangers in the 2021-22 season but he has not ruled out the potential of leaving Ibrox this summer.
The 29-year-old is currently on international duty with Croatia, where he played the full 90 minutes in the UEFA Nations League in a 1-1 draw against France, and spoke about his future to RTL.
He insisted that he is still happy with Rangers but the current landscape of football, and Ross Wilson’s desire to revamp the squad at Auchenhowie, means he can’t be certain of staying.

“I don’t know only about the club, but I am good there and enjoy it,” the defender said. “However in football, you never know, there are always some inquiries.
“There could be an offer that satisfies the club and me. Of course, you will leave (then) but until then it does not go further.”
Old Firm villain
For all the good that Barisic was able to bring to Rangers once Giovanni van Bronckhorst was appointed, the only thing people will remember is his dreadful errors in two Old Firm derbies against Celtic.
Firstly, in the 3-0 drubbing at Parkhead, he was settling under a cross at the back post, eyes only focused on the ball which allowed the onrushing attacker in green to nip in ahead of the Croatian and head the ball home.

He then repeated the same schoolboy error when the Hoops came to Ibrox later in the season which prevented the Gers from picking up what could have been a crucial three points in the title race.
When us and them are so closely matched on the field of play, you cannot afford to have players who don’t learn from their mistakes out there being exposed in such a way.
If Calvin Bassey stays, then he should be moved to left-back and we can then get Barisic out of the club so we don’t have to worry about his issues ever again.
In other Rangers news, the club are yet to enter contract negotiations with an iconic Bears player but the door remains open for him to stay another season.
