Rangers want to sign West Ham United sensation Emmanuel Longelo
By Joshua Slack
Rangers are reportedly interested in a move for West Ham youngster Emmanuel Longelo, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reported on 8 June that the Glasgow giants are among the sides interested in Longelo’s signature, as the Gers look to win back the Scottish Premiership title from fierce rivals Celtic.
And due to a lack of first-team opportunities at billionaire-owned West Ham, it is understood that the Gers want to sign the 21-year-old left-back, who looks set to quit the London Stadium.

Talented youngster
Despite the lack of first-team opportunities, there is no doubting Longelo’s potential, or talent and he thrived as part of West Ham United’s under-23 side last season, scoring on one occasion and setting up five goals in 18 appearances.
The problem for Longelo has been he hasn’t made many senior appearances and that is something Rangers could potentially offer the Englishman, especially if the sensational Calvin Bassey moves on to a different club this summer.
Bassey has been rumoured to move to Aston Villa over a potential £25 million move, but nothing has been decided yet [Sky Sports].

All we know is that Longelo is a hungry youngster who is craving game time and Rangers could be the perfect opportunity for him to showcase his talent and develop as a player, because he hasn’t been given the chance at West Ham to do that, mainly because their first-choice fullback is Aaron Cresswell.
Rangers will be willing to give Longelo a chance to showcase his talent, but it all could depend on what happens with the Bassey situation.
In other Rangers news, this goalkeeper has been tipped by Sky Sports to be the new first-choice at Ibrox.
