Latest Rangers injury update means everything must be done to keep Joe Aribo at Ibrox

With news of Ianis Hagi potentially being three to four months away from returning to action, everything has to be done to keep Joe Aribo at Rangers beyond this summer.

The Romanian’s legendary father Gheorghe Hagi confirmed on Monday that the attacking midfielder is still a long way from returning: “He has done about 50 per cent of his recovery and still has 50 per cent of work to do,” said Hagi, as quoted by the Daily Record.

He added: “It’s still going to take three or four more months for him to return.

“Ianis will get over this difficult moment in his career though.”

With the Romanian still out for a considerable amount of time, it is crucial that the Gers keep influential attacker Aribo at the club this summer.

As revealed by Football Scotland on Friday 3 June, Palace are reportedly lining up a deal for the 25-year-old Nigerian international who is out of contract in the summer of 2023.

Rangers can ill-afford to lose the attacker who has become an instrumental part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s plans and will become even more important if Hagi is not back for a long time.

Rangers

The Ibrox side are slightly short in attacking areas with injuries and lack of depth making life hard for van Bronckhorst.

Hagi will take time to return to his best form and if the Gers were to lose Aribo it would provide the club hierarchy with a huge hole to fill.

Rangers should be prepared to turn down a significant offer for the attacker after the update on Hagi.

They simply cannot go into the 2022-23 campaign with neither of them in their plans.

In other Rangers news, the Gers could sell this multi-million player in order to land a major new signing at Ibrox.
