Signing Mateo Cassierra will be perfect addition for Rangers

Rangers are interested in making a move for Colombia U23 striker Mateo Cassierra in the summer transfer window, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 25-year-old only has only one year left on his contract and it is not clear whether he will receive a new contract.

Because of this reason, the Rangers have been in the race to sign Cassierra ahead of the next campaign.

Much-needed signing

Rangers will be in the market to add quality to a squad that nearly won the Europa League last month where they suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final against Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties.

Adding someone like Casseira will definitely going to be a step in that direction.

The Barbacoas-born enjoyed a fantastic time in the Russian Premier League during the 2021-22 campaign where he managed to score 14 goals and provided six assists in just 22 outings. While doing so, he also became the second-highest goal scorer in the country.

At Rangers, one can expect a similar kind of influence from the Colombia U21 international.

His pace and tenacity will be incredibly tough to cope with, especially if the Rangers start playing on the counter.

Valued at just over £4million on transfermarkt, Casseira might prove to be a signing of the season in Scottish football, especially because he is still only 25 years old.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have agreed a fee with Leicester ahead of a significant behind-the-scenes departure from Ibrox.
