Rangers defender Leon Balogun faces an uncertain future
Rangers confirmed on Wednesday (1 June) that Connor Goldson has penned a new four-year contract at the Scottish club.
The news has come as a huge boost for the Glasgow giants as Goldson could have left on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old was arguably one of the most consistent players for the Gers last season (2021-22), and the club have done the right thing by keeping him at Ibrox for the long term.

It now remains to be seen what the future holds for Leon Balogun.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the moment, but the Gers have an option to keep him at the club for another year.
According to The Daily Record, the club will now prioritise reaching an agreement with him shortly.
However, the question mark still remains on his future.
After Rangers signed John Souttar, the Gers have a solid defensive set-up.
It was initially thought that Souttar would replace Goldson, but now the situation looks different.

Souttar and Calvin Bassey are likely to fight for the starting spot alongside Goldson, which means Balogun would further drop down the pecking order, even if he stays on.
Plus, Rangers have got some exciting talents coming up from the academy ranks, and Balogun could really struggle to get games.
Bassey, who was outstanding last season for the Gers, could be targeted by heavyweight clubs but Rangers are likely to keep hold of him.
Balogun has expressed his desire to stay at the club beyond the summer, but his future now hangs in balance.
