Gary Lineker calls for major change after Rangers fan issues in Seville
Gary Lineker has called for change after Rangers and Liverpool fans were treated disgustingly in their major European finals in the past month.
The Bears were denied simply requests such as water in Seville for the Europa League final, with some Liverpool fans being pepper-sprayed for no reason in Paris before the Champions League.
UEFA made no attempt to solve the issues, and Lineker rightly called it out as “so wrong” with so much more needing to be done to protect travelling fans.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon [02 June], Lineker called out UEFA and demanded change after incidents in the past month.
“It’s a minor miracle no one was seriously injured or lost a life,” he wrote. “My first experience of witnessing the unjust treatment of peaceful, law-abiding fans going to a football game and It’s so wrong.
“RangersFC fans went through an awful time too. Something has to change.”
Shocking.
There are simply no excuses for what happened to these fans.
First Rangers in Seville and then Liverpool in Paris, the British clubs and their fans were treated shockingly and UEFA did nothing to change that, and have made nothing but excuses since.
If they don’t make serious moves to do something about this sooner, it is only going to continue to happen, with fans of all ages affected by the pure negligence.
It cannot be allowed to be even worst in the future before something is done, the time is now.
All we can suspect from the silence is that the organisations behind this are just waiting for it all to blow over and then they can forget it all happened.
Both Rangers and Liverpool have spoken out and have been exemplary in their push for change, and we’re hoping that this can eventually lead to it, if not, that is shocking.
