Galatasaray bid may have been made to unsettle Ianis Hagi at Rangers

The Fourth Official has reported that Galatasaray bidding for Rangers star Ianis Hagi could have been done to “unsettle” him this summer.

Reports came out of Turkey that a £6million bid was set to be rejected, and it is suggested that a fully fit Hagi would be worth at least double that amount.

It is now reported that the Romanian is fully in the plans of Giovanni van Bronckhorst next season and any exit appears difficult at this stage.

Writing on their latest Patreon post on Monday morning [30 May], the Fourth Official responded to the stories coming out of Turkey.

“My source told me that Rangers have no intention of selling the Romanian at this point, as he is considered a key part of next season’s plans,” they wrote.

“There is a feeling that this is a lowball offer that is done primarily to unsettle the player. A fully fit Hagi is probably worth atleast double of what Galatasay has made a bid for here.

“At this time, it seems difficult to see how Rangers let Hagi leave.”

No chance.

There is simply no chance that Ross Wilson should ever entertain this.

Galatasaray will always hold a special place in Hagi’s heart given that is where he was born and his dad will also be legend after his time playing there.

But, the playmaker has a big role to play at Ibrox next season, especially if the likes of Joe Aribo leave, he will need to step up and become the main man upon his recovery.

Van Bronckhorst will know that, and a bid of around £6million is simply embarrassing at this stage.

Hagi will need to recover after such a serious blow, and he should be back fully firing by the time we return for Champions League qualifying.

With a big season behind him, if Hagi wants to move on, that would be possible but it would easily take double the amount that has already been fired our way.
