Rangers: Ianis Hagi shows off huge scar in Instagram injury rehab video

Ianis Hagi hasn’t played for Rangers since his big injury in the Scottish Cup against Stirling Albion but his recovery is coming along nicely.

The Romanian international has been posting videos on his Instagram page of the steps he’s been taking to get fit for the start of the 2022-23 season which most recently took him to Amsterdam.

During the four-minute video, Hagi talks about his rehabilitation so far and watches the Light Blues take on Celtic in the Old Firm derby but there was a more noticeable aspect that caught our eye.

The 23-year-old showed off a rather large scar on the outside of his right knee where he had surgery for his ligament damage while he was working hard in the gym trying to regain his strength.

The Scottish season will start especially early for 2022-23 so they can fit every game in despite the mid-season break for the 2022 Qatar World Cup in November.

Commitment

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be sitting at home watching this with a huge smile on his face because he knows that Hagi will return to play for him and no one else.

The sheer determination the Romanian has shown to get himself to this point when it was assumed he would miss some of next season as well is mind-blowing.

The rest of the Rangers squad should be taking more than a few notes from their colleague because it is this kind of commitment that is required if we are to overhaul Celtic next season and regain our crown in the Premiership.

He might not come straight into the starting lineup when we play our first domestic game but after the severity of the injury he suffered against the League Two side, it will be brilliant just to see him back on the pitch and we have to cross all our fingers that he doesn’t get any kind of setback in pre-season.

In other Rangers news, a new hospitality lounge is going to be built at Ibrox, increasing the capacity of the ground by 200 seats.
