Motherwell plot ambitious move to sign Rangers midfielder Steven Davis
Motherwell are reportedly plotting an “ambitious” move to sign Rangers midfielder Steven Davis in the summer transfer window.
According to The Scottish Daily Mail (23 May, page 72), the veteran Gers midfielder could be heading for the exit with his contract set to expire shortly.
Davis will hold discussions with the Ibrox hierarchy over his future this week.

Tough decision
The 37-year-old has enjoyed a glittering career at Ibrox in two spells, but doubts remain over his long-term future.
It seems like Davis is not looking to retire at the moment, and he feels he still has got a lot to offer.
This week is absolutely vital, as he will get to know whether he features in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first-team plans.
Davis has struggled with injuries this season, but he played a key role in the Scottish Cup final win over Hearts.

He was also brilliant in the Europa League final against Frankfurt. Clearly, he still has got the ability to continue for another season.
The report adds that Van Bronckhorst wants uncertainty surrounding the future of his star midfielder to be resolved as quickly as possible.
Rangers can look to provide him with a short one-year deal, as he brings experience and leadership in the dressing room. However, the Dutchman may have got other ideas, and he may look to bring in new faces.
The Bears are also likely to lose the services of Connor Goldson, the towering defender, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
In other Rangers news, the German media has reacted to the Europa League final scenes, branding them a “scandal”.
