View: Rangers must show Steven Davis the back door after contract ends
Rangers must show Steven Davis the back door at Ibrox with the Gers veterans contract expiring at the end of the season.
The 37-year-old is set to sit down with Light Blues chiefs in the coming weeks, as per Glasgow Evening Times.
With Giovanni van Bronckhorst looking to build on the momentum gained this season, there will be no room in the squad for the midfielder.

After the Scottish Cup final win, Davis told Premier Sports, via Glasgow Evening Times, “To be honest I really don’t know. I think we just said we’d speak after this.
“It’s been such an emotional week obviously with the European cup final – this doesn’t make up for it because it was a real good opportunity for us but we’re delighted to win this – then Jimmy Bell’s funeral yesterday.
“It has been a really emotional week and I’m delighted we could finish on a high.
“We’ll sit down next week or so and see where everything sits.”
Brutal.
It is slightly harsh on Davis – he is undoubtedly a Bears Legend having been at the club for so many years.

There is the argument that he brings so much experience to the squad and that is true but all good things must come to an end at some point.
A club with the size and quality of the Light Blues simply can’t afford to keep hold of a player simply due to their impact in the dressing room – if that is the case he can have a place in the coaching staff.
They need players who can come in and make an impact and improve the quality of the team, long-term.
Davis has done well when he has come on at times this season but it has been nowhere near enough and given his age – that is likely to get worse in the coming seasons.
It would have been nice to have won the Europa League but the Scottish Cup is a great send-off for the Northern Ireland international.
In other Rangers news, the German media has reacted to the Europa League final scenes, branding them a “scandal”.
