Rangers defender Calvin Bassey set to attract big bids this summer – BBC pundit

Kenny Miller admits that Rangers must be braced for major transfer offers for Calvin Bassey this summer.

The Nigerian defender has had an exceptional season for the Scottish giants and is subject to transfer interest from foreign clubs.

Miller has even mooted a valuation of as much as £25million if the Scottish Cup winners end up selling him.

The BBC pundit told the Daily Record, “After his outstanding performance in the Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts, Calvin Bassey is going to attract big transfer bids this summer.

“I know the supporters might not want to hear that, especially in the aftermath of lifting a trophy.

“But there’s no getting away from it.

“So can Rangers keep him? If they can’t, they need to make sure they get top dollar. Whether that’s £15million, £20million or £25million, they need to hold out for it –because he’s worth it.”

Leaving?

With the season he’s had, we’re not surprised to see so much transfer interest in Bassey.

At 23, he’s already established himself as an incredible defender and he’s only going to get better each season.

The Nigerian is extremely versatile as he can play as a centre-back as well as a left-back.

He left Leicester without a single first-team appearance and he can possibly go back to the Premier League and become a regular starter for most clubs there.

Gers fans will be hoping that he stays on for another season, but if the club receive an offer they cannot refuse, then they will have to cash in on his services.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
