Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has BBC pundit Alan Hutton gushing
Rangers got their hands on the Scottish Cup after going to extra time to beat Hearts 2-0, days after losing the Europa League final.
After a goalless90 minutes, Ryan Jack came off the bench to rifle home the opening goal from the edge of the area giving Craig Gordon no chance in the Jam Tarts’ goal.
Scott Wright then doubled the lead moments later as Hearts pushed for an equaliser by surging into the area and firing low into the bottom corner and ensuring there was no way back for their opponents.
Jack’s goal in particular got pundits purring at the delightfulness of it and none more so than BBC pundit Alan Hutton who was in awe of the effort.
“What an absolute wonder strike,” Hutton said. “It’s a great corner in from Tavernier then what an effort from Ryan Jack. Is that the goal to win the Scottish Cup? What a goal it is.”

Prior to extra time, it was a game of very few chances or quality and you could almost tell that Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men were feeling the effects of going the distance only to lose against Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville.
But Jack’s wondergoal changed everything as it not only dampened the spirits of the Hearts players and fans, but it gave everyone in blue on the day a massive lift which carried them through the rest of the game.
You could visibly see the change in mentality that both teams had when the game restarted after his goal and it never changed all the way to the final whistle.
After Wednesday night’s disappointment, this was a much-needed victory to ensure that they didn’t go into the off-season without a trophy to their name, especially having lost two finals in a week.
They can now regroup and prepare to attack the Scottish title again and try to regain their crown from Celtic as well as go one better in Europe and maintain their cup success of Saturday.
