Kieran Maguire: Rangers will not be forced to sell players despite Europa League final defeat v Eintracht Frankfurt

Kieran Maguire has insisted that Rangers will not be forced to sell any of their players this summer despite losing the final of the Europa League to Eintracht Frankfurt this week.

The finance expert shared that the Bears raked in over £30million with their European run this season, which covers any potential losses of missing out on the Champions League.

Rangers can still qualify for that competition and earn the £40million that comes with it, entering the third qualifying stage at the start of next season as a seeded side.

Speaking to The Nine as shared on Twitter, Maguire shared if the defeat will have a damaging effect on the squad moving into next season at Ibrox.

“It allows Rangers to do two things,” he said.

“First of all, it means that they won’t be forced to sell any players this summer, they will be remember in a position to try to qualify for the Champions League next season as well which would be a benefit to them.”

Amazing.

This is the news that we were all wanting.

Serious doubts immediately opened over the future of many players including the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo, with fears they could leave.

With Connor Goldson likely to leave as a free agent, it is critical that others don’t leave around him and leave Giovanni van Bronckhorst with a shell of a squad for next season.

It also means Celtic won’t get too much of an advantage financially after they won the Scottish Premiership and brought home the windfall of Champions League qualification.

Securing that ourselves will put us in a dominant financial position over our rivals, and not selling our best players will be critical for that moving forward.

Ross Wilson is never bullied and this news means that if offers do come in for our best players, we are in a position to bring home as much money as possible for them.
