BBC pundit admits Rangers fans are frustrated during Hearts clash

BBC pundit Nick McPheat admits that Rangers fans will be frustrated watching their side play against Hearts in the cup final.

Gers have dominated proceedings in the first half but have failed to break the deadlock and will end the season trophyless if they fail to win this win.

McPheat praised incoming Rangers player John Souttar on the BBC live blog and believes the fans will at least be excited about signing him.

He said, “For a guy playing his last game for the club – and about to move to the side he is playing against – and who’s hardly played in months – John Souttar has been absolutely fantastic so far.

Rangers fans will be frustrated their team hasn’t found a way past him yet but surely they’ll be encouraged by what they’ve signed.

Winning this?

There’s no reason why Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men cannot pick up the win here and lift their first trophy of the season.

They’ve dominated proceedings and seen the lion’s share of the ball which they have controlled well.

In terms of chances, they have created more and enjoyed the higher shots attempted as well as the ones that have found the target.

The European hangover that many talked about does not seem to be there but they’re lacking that clinical edge in the final third.

Hopefully, the Dutchman manages to get his word across during the break and we see a fresher and more energetic Gers side in the second period.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
