Rising star

Bassey has impressed one and all with his sturdy defending throughout the season and his performance will be one of the keys if Rangers are to be victorious in the Scottish Cup final.

Despite ending up on the losing side in the Europa League finale against Eintracht Frankfurt, Bassey was one of the best players on the pitch during the match. He was also named in the team of the season for the Europa League.

After those impressive performances, Aston Villa will have to come up with a substantial offer — possibly a club record transfer — to convince Rangers because their star player has a contract with the club till the summer of 2024.

Ever since moving to Ibrox Stadium, the 22-year-old has played 64 matches for Rangers across all competitions where he has managed to score a solitary goal and provided six assists.
