Rangers set for historic year of revenue after Europa League run this season – Kieran Maguire
Rangers are set for a historic year of revenues in 2021-22 after their Europa League run this season, according to Kieran Maguire.
The finance expert has reported that the Bears have likely brought in over £30million from their European exploits alone after reaching the final in Seville.
The Gers’ run ended with a penalty shootout defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, but the achievements are huge in terms of financial benefit to the club in the long run.

Speaking to The Nine as shared on Twitter, Maguire dropped the big financial news that will likely leave many buzzing at Ibrox despite disappointment.
“Well, as far as the prize money is concerned, it’s around about €19million, so that’s about £16.5million,” he said.
“On top of that, because Rangers have had nine fixtures at Ibrox, they’re likely to have increased their total revenues by £15million, and then they get the share of the money which is being put in by BT Sport, who are the biggest contributions in terms of broadcasting, so there’s probably another £4-5million in there.
“If we add up all of those figures, we’re talking in excess of £30million. I think this year’s revenues for 21-22 are likely to be a record in the history of the club.”
Wow.
This is huge.
For a Scottish club to get to the final of the Europa League after facing the likes of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund along the way, is massive.
So, it is amazing to see that the financial reward of that is huge too and something that is likely going to cover the loss of not automatically qualifying for the Champions League.
Having said that, the Bears will get the chance to do that through the qualifiers at the start of next season.
If we can get through those and make it to the group stage, we will get the £40million reward and add that on top of what was earned in the Europa League this season – that would be gigantic.
It would see Celtic’s achievements blown out of the water, and likely make us the dominant financial force, something that must be used to restore our dominance in the league too.
