Eintracht Frankfurt president destroys Rangers fans with brutal jibe
Eintracht Frankfurt president Peter Fischer has destroyed Rangers fans, claiming that he couldn’t hear them in the Europa League final loss at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium.
Joe Aribo thought he had done enough to win the game for the Gers by scoring the opener but the Germans pegged them back just 12 minutes later.
Both sides still couldn’t find a winner which saw the game go to penalties the Bundesliga outfit won 5-4 after Aaron Ramsey fluffed his lines.
Fischer said as per Scottish Daily Express: “We had respect for our opponents. It was a fixture worth a final. Two big, traditional clubs, both with big fanbases.
“But what I have to say is that everybody from Glasgow told me ‘we won’t hear you, because we will be so loud and that we will make it a home game’. They still said that today everywhere.
“Where have they been? Where in the world have they been? We couldn’t hear them and then they disappeared after the final whistle. This shows there is less sportsmanship and that’s what I criticise.

“Our fanbase helped us win the game, they were fantastic against the ‘super louds’.”
Nonsense.
Honestly, was he in the right stadium? Rangers fans were so loud throughout virtually the whole game.
Of course, the Frankfurt fans had their moments and hats off to them – they are a brilliant set of fans that much like the Scots have played a key part in their team reaching the final.
But, all credit should go to the Bears fans who flocked to Seville in their hundreds of thousands – that is some support.
It is soul-destroying that the players couldn’t see the game out on the pitch and give the supporters what they deserved but that takes nothing away from what an incredible journey it has been.
It isn’t often that the Gers reach a major European final and to do it in the manner in which they did this season is something to behold.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the players need to dust themselves down and redeem themselves this weekend by winning the Scottish Cup final – then it will be an incredible campaign.
