Tom English takes fresh dig at Ryan Kent after Rangers Europa League loss v Eintracht Frankfurt

Tom English took a fresh dig at Ryan Kent after he missed a glorious chance to win Rangers the Europa League.

The English attacker was within touching distance of helping Gers beat Eintracht Frankfurt but his shot from close-range was saved by Kevin Trapp.

BBC’s English saw this as the perfect chance to bring up his goal-scoring form and blamed the miss on that.

He wrote in his latest column, “For all his reputation as an attacker of menace, Kent has scored one goal since mid-December and only three in a 45-game season. That’s a terrible return but it wouldn’t have mattered a damn had he put that sitter away. He’d have been hailed a hero forever.”

Shocking

We cannot really expect anything better from the BBC or from English.

Kent is a good finisher who would’ve put that into the back of the net nine times out of town.

To bring up his stats and attribute his miss to that is really looking for something deeper for a thing that does not even exist.

We back Kent and the rest of the team to bounce back from this as they’ve overcome worse in the past.

Hopefully, the former Liverpool player does not let this get him down in the dumps as he’s a quality attacker who adds a lot of value to this team.

A good performance in the cup final against Hearts could go a long way towards instilling some of this confidence back ahead of next season.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
