View: Kenny Miller left red-faced after major Rangers-Aaron Ramsey call
Kenny Miller has been left red-faced after he called for Aaron Ramsey to come on for Rangers during half-time of extra-time against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.
With the Juventus midfielder brought to Ibrox for big occasions, Giovanni van Bronckhorst subbed the 31-year-old just minutes before the penalty shootout.
Miller cried for the Wales international to be brought on to make an impact ahead of the penalty shoutout as he told BT Sport [May 18, 22:30]: “There must be question marks about Aaron Ramsey’s fitness.

“This is why you bring him to the club, games like this. There’s no doubt he can bring something.”
Of course, he did make an impact – his missed spot-kick saw the Light Blues lose 5-4 on penalties which would have left Miller rather embarrassed.
Heart-wrenching.
Wow. Rangers fans will be absolutely devastated for a very long time. The European final defeat in 2008 sat with the club for some time afterwards and this one is going to be just as bad – if not worse.
There was a real sense of belief that the Gers would go on to lift the trophy in Seville.

They had beaten a host of brilliant sides on route to the final and didn’t look like stopping for Frankfurt – which they didn’t.
It was a very even game that the Bears probably did enough to win but when it is anyone’s game when it goes to penalties.
The blame can’t be placed solely on Ramsey’s shoulders though. He deserves credit for having the heart to step up and it could have been any one of these Rangers heroes to have missed.
It is a huge shame not to be bringing the trophy back to Ibrox but what a journey these players have been on in Europe this season. truly unforgettable.
