Jason Burt shares if Rangers fans attacked bar in Seville ahead of Frankfurt Europa League clash

Jason Burt claims that it was the Eintracht Frankfurt and not Rangers fans that attacked a bar in Seville ahead of the game.

Gers ended up losing the Europa League final on penalties after a 1-1 score in regulation time courtesy of Aaron Ramsey’s fans.

By and large, the scenes in Seville were understood to be cordial and the Telegraph journalist just saw one incident which was not the doing of the Scottish fans.

Via his personal Twitter account, Burt said, “Been in Seville for 2 days. Rangers fans I have seen have been impeccably behaved. Remarkable there were 100,000 of them here. Only incident I witnessed, a bar being attacked in front of me at 6pm yesterday, which I was warned not to film, was caused by Eintracht Frankfurt fans.”

Good behaviour

There have been countless instances of fans clashing on European nights.

It was possible that it could have happened in Seville as well with both clubs having passionate supporters making the journey to Spain.

However, by and all large, everything was cordial bar the incident that Burt mentioned above.

While Rangers fans would’ve wanted to end up on the winning side, they did everything to cheer their team on.

Not only in the stadium, but they also set up fan parks in the city and it was an atmosphere that they will never forget.

Gers will be back stronger next season and hopefully, the board backs Giovanni van Bronckhorst to build this side impeccably.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
