Jamie O’Hara drops ‘inconsolable’ view on Rangers ace Aaron Ramsey
Jamie O’Hara has flown to the defence of Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey after his Europa League losing penalty on Wednesday [May 18] night.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side fell to A 5-4 defeat on penalties in Seville with the game ending 1-1 after 120 minutes.
In one of the “worst” moments of the Welshman’s career, O’ Hara credited Ramsey for having the “bottle” to step up.
He told talkSPORT: “I’m gutted for them, I’m genuinely gutted for them.
“You can see the fans’ faces, you can see it in Aaron Ramsey – he is inconsolable right now.
“It’s just one of those moments where it is a lottery,” he added “I’ve been in that moment as a player missing a penalty in a huge moment – it is the worst feeling ever.
“He had the bottle to step up Aaron Ramsey and take it, it was a poor penalty.”
He added: “It was an incredible journey from Rangers and they have to be proud of what they have done.”

Tough.
It is a really difficult one to take for Rangers. They have done immensely to have even reached the Europa League final and to be so close to the trophy is soul-destroying.
It isn’t often that the Gers find themselves in a European final which makes the loss a great deal sourer but hopefully, this group of players can maintain and build on this season’s momentum over the next few seasons.
The hardest part about the defeat isn’t the penalties because everyone knows they can go either way – it is the fact that the Gers should have won the game before then.
They did brilliantly to go 1-0 up and even after Eintracht Frankfurt pegged them back they still had chances to win – most notably Ryan Kent’s chance in the dying minutes of the second half of extra time.
It is so unfortunate but the Bears have to dust themselves down and go again because they have another cup final to come.
