Rangers predicted XI v Eintracht Frankfurt: Kemar Roofe to start
Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has been ruled fit enough for the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday (May 18).
The Jamaican’s fitness has been the cause of plenty of conversations on social media, but Giovanni van Bronckhorst allayed all fears in the pre-match buildup.
He ruled the 29-year-old fit after he trained with the team over the past few days.
“Kemar (Roofe) is a boost for us, he is important and I am happy for him as he has been working hard to return. He is there and ready to play a part,” van Bronckhorst said in his pre-match press conference, as quoted by the Rangers Twitter account.
Ryan Jack is also expected to be fit and this is a massive double injury boost for Gers ahead of the huge finale.
We’re also expecting van Bronckhorst to keep Aaron Ramsey on the bench and possibly bring him on in the second half.
The Welshman’s legs may not last 120 minutes, should the game go into extra time and a shootout so there’s a chance that he goes with Glen Kamara.
The Finland international will give the team solidity without the ball and with a recognised striker it does make sense to have that extra body in midfield.
Fashion Sakala, the summer signing who would’ve started if Roofe wasn’t fit, is another player we expect to be on the bench.
Rangers will be going all guns blazing for this one and we back them to bring home their first European trophy in 50 years.
In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
