Kevin Thomson: Rangers winning Europa League will be unbelievable achievement
Kevin Thomson has suggested that Rangers winning the Europa League would be an unbelievable achievement for the club this season.
The former Gers hero has made a strong claim that it will the best ever achievement, considering where they were five to six seasons ago. They also went on to win the Scottish Premiership title last season.
However, if they win the Europa League this season, it will be something special for the club. Thomson fancies them to lift the trophy on Wednesday.

“You have to consider where the club has been since 2008. Dropping down the leagues. Having to rebuild. Winning a 55th league title and then making it to a European final the next again season?,” said Thomson to The Daily Record.
“Someone told me the other day they were playing against Stirling Albion nine years ago! That’s what you’re dealing with here. It’s incredible.
“So, yes, if they do get their hands on that trophy they will, in my opinion, be the best bar none.
“But when you consider how far this Rangers team has come and the size of the financial disparity across European
football these days, this would be an unbelievable achievement.
“But I fancy the current team to go one better than we did and bring the trophy home. I’ll be their biggest cheerleader if they do the impossible because that’s what this should be – impossible.”
Indeed
This will be really an incredible achievement for the club if they can win the Europa League.
It will also be huge for the Scottish football as well, as it could mean an improvement in infrastructural development.
However, the focus should be on getting the job done.
Rangers have suffered disappointment in the league after falling behind Celtic.
Credit should also go to Steven Gerrard for building a strong team, but Van Bronckhorst has made them even better.

They have a great chance now to end the season on a high by winning the Europa League as also the Scottish Cup.
The Bears have defeated teams like Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig to reach this far, and they have one more German team to slay before they can lift the trophy.
Frankfurt are a dangerous side and Van Bronckhorst won’t take them lightly. They have beaten West Ham in their previous round, but anything can happen in the final.
In other Rangers news, One 25-year-old could now be deemed as surplus to requirements at Ibrox this season.
