Graham Spiers defends Rangers videos to fans ahead of Europa League final v Frankfurt
Graham Spiers has jumped to the defence of Rangers after they have been “ridiculed” for their messages to fans throughout this week.
The Bears have shared messages from legends such as Ian Durrant, Graeme Souness and Richard Gough ahead of the Europa League final against Frankfurt on Wednesday evening.
Spiers admitted it was right to urge fans to behave themselves after the last two European finals were “ruined” by travelling fans creating ground for these messages.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Spiers reacted to those ridiculing the club for making the message very, very clear at the start of this week.
“Rangers have been ridiculed for putting out these videos – 3 at the last count – begging their fans to behave in Seville,” he wrote.
“Yet the last two Euro finals reached by the club – 1972 and 2008 – were both ruined by their supporters’ behaviour. There are grounds for Rangers’ foreboding.”
Ridiculed.
We all know where the main culprits of this are coming from.
Those Celtic fans, led by Chris Sutton are likely going to be cheering on Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening, in what is the most embarrassing piece of behaviour we have seen.
Ironically, those Celtic fans could have done with being told to behave over the weekend after trashing Glasgow and leaving the streets rammed with rubbish to be cleaned up by others.
This is now the biggest game that Scottish football has seen since our last European final more than a decade ago, and we have been to the bottom and come back to the top since then.
These fans travelling across to Spain deserve to party, but of course, responsibly, which we have no doubt will happen across the next week.
Let’s make lifting that trophy the headline this week, not any trouble that everyone is apparently waiting to see.
