
Charlie Nicholas dubs James Tavernier to be Rangers ‘ultimate hero’ in Seville
Charlie Nicholas has raved over “phenomenal” Rangers captain James Tavernier, insisting he can win the Europa League final for the Scots.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side takes on Eintracht Frankfurt – who are yet to lose a game in the tournament – in Wednesday [May 18] night’s final in Seville.
The defender has been “something else” this season, notching 35 goal involvements in all competitions for the Gers.

“Tavernier, for me, is the man who can turn games,” the Sky Sports pundit told Scottish Daily Express.
“His scoring record is phenomenal as are his assists. If Tavernier gets the time and space then I can see Rangers edging it.
“I know people will talk about his penalties but even if you take them out his goal return is something else.
“I see Tavernier being the ultimate hero. He always seems to deliver when it matters.
“It might go to extra time but I could see Rangers coming through it. I would go 1-1 and then Rangers to win it 2-1 in extra time.”

If Tavernier is on his game on Wednesday, Rangers stand a very good chance of winning the final.
