Rangers make approach to sign Bolton forward Oladapo Afolayan as potential Ryan Kent replacement
Rangers have approached Bolton with an enquiry about star attacker Oladapo Afolayan, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
Writing via his Patreon account on Sunday (15 May), Nixon reported that Afolayan, 24, is valued at £1.5million by the English League One club, who might “be unable to turn down a good offer”.
It is understood that Rangers could be eyeing up the former West Ham attacker as a potential replacement for Ryan Kent as he’s set to enter the final year of his contract at Ibrox this summer.

Cheap
Rangers could be a Champions League club next season and, at the very least, will be in the Europa League.
Why are they looking at an English League One player who’s been valued at £1.5million to replace Kent, who’s proven himself as one of the best attackers in Scotland and has been vital in our success in European football?
Afolayan’s had a good season in England’s third-tier, there’s no denying that.
The London-born winger scored 14 goals and supplied eight assists in 51 appearances across all competitions for Bolton, playing both on the left-wing and also up front.
Bolton manager Ian Evatt was quoted by the Manchester Evening News on 24 April that Afolayan is an “outstanding” player so it’s clear to see he’s made an impact south of the border with the Trotters.
But is he good enough for Rangers’ starting line-up?

We don’t think so.
Ross Wilson hasn’t done the best of jobs in terms of recruitment in the last couple of years with Rangers at a point where their star players are decreasing in value and the number of failed signings are increasing.
Still, we’ve got two finals to look forward to next week.
If we win the Europa League, we very much doubt we’ll be looking to sign £1.5million-rated players in England’s third tier.
