Rangers injury news: Van Bronckhorst shares latest update on Kemar Roofe and Ryan Jack
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has insisted that Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack will be fit to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League Final on May 18 in Seville.
The Gers boss, however, has admitted that Kemar Roofe’s situation is a “close call” at the moment.
Both Jack and Roofe were absent during the Gers’ 4-1 win against Ross County on Wednesday (11 May).
Rangers official media partner, Heart and Hand podcast shared on Twitter: “Manager says Ryan Jack should be ready for Seville but it will be a ‘close call’ for Kemar Roofe.”
It’s a huge boost for the Gers to get Jack back ahead of the final.
He is a creative midfielder and adds dynamism to the side.
Jack suffered an injury in the RB Leipzig second leg clash and missed the last two games. However, he is certain to start if he’s fully fit.
It seems, Roofe will have to work hard to get fit ahead of the game. It’s a massive game, one that could shape the landscape of the Scottish football as a whole.
Roofe provides the focal point in attack, and even if, he is half-fit, van Bronckhorst must take a gamble and throw him into the final.
The Gers have lost the league title to Celtic, but they can still end the season on a high, with with cup wins.
Rangers will face Hearts in the Scottish Cup final, three days after the Europa League Final.
Despite the disappointment in the league, there’s plenty to look forward to.
