Rangers await UEFA decision on kits for Frankfurt Europa League clash

A decision is expected to be made over the kits Rangers and Frankfurt will wear in the next 24 hours.

According to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell, the kit colour decision could even be made as early as Tuesday (May 10).

Frankfurt’s home kit is black and so is the Gers’ away one, so if their home blue kit is deemed to clash with the black, they could have to wear an alternate kit.

Via his personal Twitter account, Campbell wrote, “Understand that a decision on the kits Frankfurt and Rangers will wear in the Europa League final is expected to be made today or tomorrow.

“Frankfurt are the ‘home’ side so if Rangers’ blue kits are deemed to clash with Germans’ black then another option will have to be found.”

Wear the orange one

Rangers announced on Tuesday that their third kit for next season will be an orange one.

Initial glances at it show that it’s an eye-catching one and the club could market it as the European final kit.

It will generate plenty of sales ahead of the game and should Gers win their first European trophy in 50 years, the kit would go down in history.

This jersey colour clash has given them the perfect opportunity to push for the orange one to be announced.

We do not know if UEFA can approve this jersey as it wasn’t registered at the start of the season.

That said, the regulations regarding the away and the third kit don’t work for the away team which means that the UEFA administration decides on the playing attire to be worn by each team in consultation with the referee.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
