Rangers news: Ryan Kent wants to leave Ibrox this summer, Leeds United and Everton keen - report

Rangers star Ryan Kent will look to leave Ibrox this summer in what would be a blockbuster exit, according to Dean Jones on Sunday [08 May].

The self-proclaimed transfer insider has reported that Leeds United and Everton are both ready to pounce for the former Liverpool winger once the window opens.

Kent is said to have a desire to play in the Premier League, despite Rangers readying a new contract offer for the star of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

Speaking to GIVE ME SPORT, Jones shared the crushing news that the winger is likely to move on this summer.

“I’m told Ryan Kent will still look to leave this summer as he wants to play in the Premier League,” he wrote.

“Rangers are ready to make him a new contract offer, but it sounds like he fancies a move, and he knows clubs like Leeds and Everton are keen”

This is the last thing we wanted to hear ahead of a huge couple of weeks at Ibrox.

First, we travel to Seville to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final, before taking on Hearts in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park only days later.

We need Kent at the top of his game for both of those if we want to end the season with a huge bang and a couple of trophies in the cabinet.

This could work in our favour too, with Kent potentially playing out of his skin to try and earn a bigger move or contract once the window opens and he was to move on.

Leeds and Everton are steeped in history, but they have both been shocking this season and cannot compete with the achievements of Rangers even slightly.

Hopefully, the big windfall of winning the Europa League and earning Champions League qualification could change Kent’s mind, but we have to do the business first and slay another German club.

Get it done.
