Michael Stewart wowed by 'Perfect' Fashion Sakala moment in Rangers win v Dundee United
Michael Stewart was left wowed by Rangers attacker Fashion Sakala after the 2-0 win over Dundee United on Sunday [08 May].
The BBC Sportscene pundit singled out the Zambian star for his “perfect” assist to set up Amad Diallo in the second half.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst rotated heavily for the game and gave minutes to those who don’t get them consistently, and wasn’t let down.
Speaking live on BBC Sportscene commentary last night [08 May], Stewart singled out the striker for his work.
“Big gaping holes in the Dundee United defence in that transition,” he said.
“Sakala pings the ball into Diallo perfectly and Siegrist has absolutely no chance. A perfect weighted ball from Sakala into Diallo’s path.”
These are the moments where Sakala needs to find some consistency in his game moving forward.
Once he does that, we will have a real weapon on our hands at Ibrox.
Too many times we have seen the attacker either perfectly weight the pass, or completely mess it up by overhitting it or losing possession.
Consistency is vital if you want to make it at the top, and it is why the likes of Alfredo Morelos have made a real name for themselves.
Sakala has certainly shined in recent weeks, and we can’t wait for more, but he has to do it across an entire season now.
Van Bronckhorst clearly has the faith in the Zambian international, and now it is time for him to repay that moving forward.
Diallo is another who should benefit from that goal, but it may have come far too late with his loan spell quickly coming to an end.
