Gary Lineker reacts as Rangers reach final of Europa League

Gary Lineker has shared a brilliant reaction on Twitter after Rangers defeated RB Leipzig to reach the final of the Europa League.

The Gers came from 1-0 behind in the first leg to win 3-2 on aggregate on an emotionally charged night at Ibrox on Thursday (05 March).

Goals from James Tavernier, Glen Kamara and John Lundstram earned the Bears a historic win as their dream run in Europe continues.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Just saw the Rangers result. Wow. Well played and good luck in the final.”

Lost for words

The atmosphere in the stadium was electrifying and the players rose to the occasion once again.

This season, it has been proved that Rangers can beat any side on their day at Ibrox, and they have done it once again after coming from behind.

The players have shown immense character. Even when Christopher Nkunku levelled the tie after scoring his 32nd goal of the season, the Gers found a way to grab the winner.

Lunsdtram has enjoyed a phenomenal season and he scored arguably “the most important goal” of the season for the Gers.

Wow. Leipzig had no answer in the closing stages as the decibel at Ibrox reached a different level.

After the final whistle, the players looked shell-shocked. They looked in utter disbelief at what have done just now.

Credit goes to Giovanni van Bronckhorst for taking the team all the way, and now another German side stands in between the elusive trophy.

The Gers will face Frankfurt in Seville on 18 May where they will be aiming to lift their first European trophy in 50 years.
