BBC pundit stunned by Rangers developments in 2022, predicts winner in RB Leipzig clash

Neil Alexander believes that it is ‘incredible’ for Rangers to lose two key figures in their club’s history in the last six months.

This comes after the passing of legendary kit man Jimmy Bell as tributes flowed in for him from everyone associated with the club.

He believes that this will galvanise the players against RB Leipzig and he expects them to go and get the job done at Ibrox.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said, “He lived and breathed Rangers. It’s devastating to know that he won’t be there, especially for the boys tomorrow night as they walk into that dressing room.

“He’s going to be such a huge miss. To lose two huge Rangers iconic figures in six months is just incredible for the club.

“I know the fans will give Jimmy a huge sendoff and I hope they do win the next game for Jimmy. It will give them that extra motivation, not that it’s needed but they’ll want to put in a performance that Jimmy will be proud of and I’m very confident they’ll go and progress.”

Get this done

It’s been a tragic week at Ibrox and the best way to change the mood is by winning.

A European semi-final is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season and the chips are once again stacked against them.

They managed to come back from a goal down against Braga to progress and there’s no reason why they cannot do that again.

It surely won’t be easy but nothing is in UEFA competitions these days so we’re sure that this one is going to be a night to remember.

Whether or not they can actually get over the line, remains to be seen but the fans are going to turn up regardless.

They have stuck by the club through thick and thin and they certainly will show up in numbers and will be loud and passionate from minute one.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
