Michael Stewart fumes at Scott Arfield live on BBC after 'Huge' Celtic moment v Rangers

Michael Stewart has blasted Scott Arfield on BBC Sportscene after Rangers drew 1-1 v Celtic on Sunday afternoon [1 May].

The Canadian gave the ball away far too easily with the score at 1-0, handing Celtic the perfect chance to double their lead.

Thankfully, that was missed and Fashion Sakala went on to smash home the equaliser in a full-blooded outing at Parkhead.

Speaking live on BBC Sportscene last night [1 May], Stewart was not best pleased by what the Canadian had done.

“It’s poor from arfield,” he moaned.

“He’s played it blind, that is a huge opportunity for Celtic to get themselves two in front.”

Poor.

Arfield had a few moments to forget in the heart of midfield yesterday, but he still could have had the final laugh.

The Canadian has a nack of popping up in the final third and finding the back of the net, as he did in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

If it wasn’t for Joe Hart, he would have done the same again after a front-post flick towards the end of the showdown.

But, it’s the poor moments people remember, and if Daizen Maeda had fired home after Arfield gave the ball away, he would have been torn apart.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has plenty of options in this squad and having the likes of Arfield certainly helps when we are dealing with these kinds of injuries.

No one is perfect, though, and Stewart needs to cut some slack.
