Rangers confirmed XI v Celtic: Three senior men dropped as Fashion Sakala returns

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed the 11 players who will take to the pitch to face Celtic in today’s Old Firm derby at Parkhead.

The boss has made 3 changes to the side that was narrowly beaten 1-0 away at RB Leipzig on Thursday with Fashion, Scott Arfield and Steven Davies replacing Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and Scott Wright.

The Light Blues need to win this game if they want to keep their hopes of retaining their Scottish Premiership crown with the Hoops already six points clear at the summit of the league.

Celtic have won the past two meetings between the two old rivals in the league after the Bears got the better of them all the way back in August while Steven Gerrard was still the manager at Ibrox.

van Bronckhorst did t least get some revenge in the Scottish Cup as an extra-time own goal saw them win 2-1 at Hampden Park to book their place in the final against Hearts.

Games do not get any bigger than this for either Rangers or Celtic and it could be lights out in the title defence by 2 pm this afternoon.

The Gers’ previous visit to Parkhead was an embarrassing affair with Celtic 3-0 to the good by half-time, a margin they would go on to hold until the final whistle.

The boss will be very keen not to see a repeat performance in the first 45 this time around and you can expect all kinds of rage in the dressing room if such a thing occurs.

There can be no complacency or eyes on the return leg against Leipzig to come this Thursday because anything less than full focus will result in green celebrations and the trophy heading back to Parkhead.

But with that away end bouncing and a fiery performance from the boys in blue, we will be victorious and keep Celtic on their toes ahead of the final run-in to the chequered flag.
