Domenico Tedesco raves about Rangers trio ahead of RB Leipzig clash

Domenico Tedesco has showered heaps of praise on Rangers trio ahead of their Europa League clash against RB Leipzig on Thursday.

The Gers travel to Germany to face one of the most in-form teams in the Bundesliga in the first leg of the semi-final clash.

While the Bears will be without Kemar Roofe, Tedesco, the Leipzig boss, feels that the likes of Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Fashion Sakala can cause lots of problems.

“They’re similar to Union Berlin, man-orientated, very strong, strong on the wings, they have great individuals,” said Tedesco as quoted by Football Scotland.

“For example, Ryan Kent really sticks out.

“It’s a semi-final, If you achieve this target you can be sure that you are a strong team. We know that Roofe will miss the game, they can play Aribo as a No.10, he is strong in the half-spaces, and they also have Fashion JR.

“They have strong players with a lot of speed. Any player that plays in the forward areas for them is strong.”

Aribo as false nine?

This is a massive game for the Gers and they need to stay resolute at the back.

Having beaten the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg and FC Braga, the Gers will have the confidence to beat any side.

However, Leipzig are likely to pose the biggest challenge. No team in the Bundesliga has picked up more points than them in the last 10 games.

They are a well-drilled side, and it would need a herculean effort from Rangers to move to the finals. They have to stay in the game and make sure they don’t concede enough goals.

It will be interesting to see how they line up for this fixture. Without Roofe, Giovanni van Bronckhorst doesn’t have enough options in the forward department.

Sakala can play there but he is most effective playing out wide where he can use his pace to good effect. Aribo playing as a false nine could be a very good option, considering he has this habit of scoring odd goals.

In other Rangers news, the club are “not convinced” by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
