Sky Sports pundit: Rangers players anxious ahead of RB Leipzig and Celtic games

Kevin Thomson believes that the Rangers players could be anxious and nervous ahead of their two big games this week.

On Thursday, they’re set to take on RB Leipzig in the Europa League semi-finals before they face off against Celtic at the weekend.

Both games are must-wins for the Gers as their season could quickly start unravelling with a string of bad results.

Speaking on Sky Sports about these games, Thomson said, via Football Daily, “I suppose it’s a week the players will relish.

“They are massive games and ultimately every player will want to be involved in the business end of the season.

“I’m pretty sure this Rangers group will be relishing it. They’ll be anxious, nervous, but they’ll certainly be in it than not be in it.”

Massive week

The Rangers players must forget everything that’s happened this season and just focus on the two games ahead.

They know that the odds are stacked against them in terms of winning the league, but three points against Celtic puts all the pressure on the Hoops.

The same goes for Leipzig, who have been inconsistent in the league this season.

That game will certainly be there for the taking as well and we don’t quite understand why the Germans have been billed as overwhelming favourites for that one.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will certainly have his tactical plans for the matches ahead.

He knows that the previous results have not been acceptable and we hope that he’s learnt from his past mistakes.

In other Rangers news, the club are ‘not convinced’ by a key first-team player and an early termination of his contract is extremely likely.
