Rangers have RB Leipzig rattled after Bundesliga collapse yesterday

Rangers enjoyed victory on Saturday away at Motherwell but things were a lot more stressful for their Europa League semi-final opponents.

Scott Wright starred as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side sent a message to their European counterparts with a 3-1 victory having had Leon Balogun sent off in the first half.

It was not such a fruitful weekend for RB Leipzig though and maybe the thought of playing the mighty blues has got to their heads?

The Bundesliga side threw away a one-goal lead at home to Union Berlin to suffer another defeat in the league as their continental exploits begin to distract them.

Whether they opted to rest players with such a mammoth game to come in midweek, just like Rangers did with Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo among others who began on the bench, who knows?

Even if they did start a rotated team, they still showed the kind of vulnerability that will have van Bronckhorst salivating in the mouth at the thought of a weakened opposition.

The first leg of the two-legged tie takes place in Germany where the Scots will be content if they can keep it close to give Irox something to cheer on in the return leg the following week.

But to see their upcoming rivals lose in such a manner in their own backyard will give all kinds of confidence to the Light Blues who will be primed and ready to try and compile their misery with a fast start on Thursday.

There is still a long time before the big game but it looks like the Germans are already rattled by the thought of taking on the world-famous Rangers Football Club.

In other Rangers news, one of the Gers’ most famous teams is set to be the focus of a new movie in the anniversary year of their greatest achievement.
