Jordan Campbell raves over Rangers ace John Lundstram after Celtic win

Jordan Campbell has raved over John Lundstram’s “snarling presence” in the Rangers midfield after what he did in the semi-final win against Celtic.

The midfielder was spotted barking orders at Calvin Bassey as he was checking on a Hoops players who was down injured on the Hampden Park turf.

Campbell claimed that the Gers have been “too nice” in recent years but the former Sheffiled United ace is now leading the way for his teammates.

He said on Twitter: “Noted this down and should really have referenced it in my report as, while it may not seem significant, Rangers have looked too nice at times in recent years.

“Lundstram has become a leader in this team and in setting the tone. He’s brought that snarling presence to midfield.”

Spot on.

The Athletic reporter has hit the nail on the head hear. It changed slightly under Steven Gerrard but for a long time Rangers playing second fiddle in Scotland left them respecting Celtic far too much.

They don’t deserve any respect on the pitch, certainly not from the Light Blues. At the end of the day, both teams are competing to win the game and they have never afforded the Bears that same luxury when they were in the driving seat.

It took Lundstram a little while to settle to life in Glasgow but the 28-year-old has really found his feet now.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to pick him for every important game from now until the end of the season because his presence in the midfield is terrific.

What he did against the Hoops epitomises him and what he can bring to this Bears team and obviously he is a very good footballer which also helps.

In other Rangers news, Steven Pressley was left gushing over a “terrific” Light Blues duo against Celtic.
