Bobby Madden inadvertently trolls Celtic over Old Firm controversy, Rangers hero Kris Boyd reacts

Kris Boyd has been trolling Bobby Madden on Instagram after the referee was slaughtered for his performance in Rangers’ Scottish Cup semi-final win over Celtic at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Less than 24 hours after his controversial performance, Madden was taking to his personal Instagram account to advertise an online refereeing course for potential new whistlers.

Ex-Rangers star Boyd took it as a prime opportunity to joke about applying for the course himself, while also taking a swipe at Celtic for their refusal to call the Old Firm derby what it’s actually called and even mentioned his bias.

Writing in the comments, Boyd said: “Just thinking I might apply for this myself. What do you reckon, Bobby?

“You think I’d make a good ref on Old Firm day?? Or Glasgow derby as some people call it!! I suppose I can’t be biased.”

Who’s the troll, here? Is it Boyd – or is it Madden?

It’s quite a coincidence if Madden has inadvertently advertised a referee’s coaching course the day after a controversial performance in the Old Firm derby.

We’ll admit that Madden’s officiating wasn’t great.

There’s been some reaction to the referee’s display but we’re not sure why there is so much unrest when in reality, the best team won fair and square.

But for Madden to turn around and advertise refereeing courses is just brilliant – simply brilliant.

You can imagine the Celtic fans seeing that on Instagram today and going into a fit of rage.

Boyd’s reply is also brilliant as it’s also suggesting that the Celtic fans are crying about a perceived bias.

If a referee was so biased, do you think it would take an extra-time winner for the Gers to win a game?
