Kenny Miller lauds 'incredible' Connor Goldson moment in Rangers win v Celtic on BBC Sportscene

Kenny Miller was left stunned by Connor Goldson as Rangers pulled off yet another huge win against Celtic on Sunday.

Despite going behind, the Bears fought back to reach the Scottish Cup finals, with Scott Arfield getting the first before an own-goal sealed a 2-1 win.

Miller singled out an “Incredible” long-range pass from Goldson in the build-up to Arfield’s goal and was blown away.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene last night [17 April], Miller was chuffed as the pass landed perfectly on James Tavernier.

“It’s an incredible pass,” he said.

“It’s right onto Tavernier’s chest and because he has to hit it early on the bounce, it takes all of the Celtic players out and Kemar Roofe takes a pretty good touch and is trying to turn for the shot himself. It falls beautifully for Arfield who puts it past Joe Hart.”

This comes as no surprise to Rangers fans, who have watched Goldson spread passes like this for fun for many years now.

There was a stage throughout last year when the defender was finding the stand more than Tavernier or Borna Barisic, but that hasn’t stopped him.

This was a phenomenal ball out of the top drawer, and it was finished off perfectly by Arfield past Joe Hart.

Goldson still hasn’t signed a new deal at Ibrox with his contract expiring very quickly, but moments such as this one must surely tempt him even more.

The defender was stood with the fans alone after the game, simply staring into the scenes, and you could see the immense pride.

Let’s go all the way and bring this trophy home, Goldson will certainly be one of the keys to doing that.
