Tam McManus delivers strong Twitter reaction after Rangers 2-1 v Celtic

Rangers have moved to the finals of the Scottish Cup after they won 2-1 against Celtic at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Despite going a goal down, the Gers showed incredible energy and mentality to level the game and later snatch it from the jaws of defeat.

Tam McManus has suggested that it was a “poor” performance from the Bhoys and feels the Gers were the “deserved” winner.

Goals from Scott Arfield and an own goal from Carl Starfelt sealed a memorable win for the Bears.

The former Hibs player wrote on Twitter: “Thought Rangers deserved that today. Looked the fitter side throughout the game and especially in extra time. Celtic poor. Worst I’ve seen them for a while.”

What an amazing week this has been for the Gers.

It was supposed to be an acid test for the Rangers boss, and he passed both of them with flying colours.

On Thursday, the Gers knocked Braga out of the Europa League, after playing 120 minutes of football.

And they played another 120 minutes today to knock Celtic out of the competition. The fitness level is simply unreal.

More than the physical part, it’s the mental stamina that stood out. Having lost twice against Celtic, the Bears were not in a mood to throw the game away.

The Gers fell behind to Greg Taylor’s goal in the second half, but Van Brockhorst’s side made a rousing comeback. They now have a chance to pick up their first domestic cup in 11 years.

Rangers will face Hearts in the final of the Scottish Cup on 21 May.
