BBC journalist Tom English fumes at major Rangers incident v Braga
Tom English was left dumbfounded by the decision to disallow Rangers a third goal against Braga on Thursday evening.
The BBC journalist insisted that the goal should have stood, but VAR had other ideas, calling back Kemar Roofe’s header for a handball by Borna Barisic.
The referee initially gave the goal, but technology deemed that it was a deliberate handball from the Croatian.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, English was far from pleased with what he saw from the officials.
“Braga haven’t been able to draw breath,” he wrote.
“Rangers annihilated them in that first half. Ripped them asunder outwide. Should be 3-0. That disallowed goal should have stood I think.”
Made all the difference.
It’s huge when you look at things now, as that goal would have put the game to bed in Glasgow at the time.
Braga eventually equalised the score in normal time, but it would have counted for nothing if the rules were applied.
English shared changes made to the rules in the Premier League recently, with accidental handball only causing the goal to be disallowed if it is from the player who scored.
That wasn’t the case here with Roofe heading home, with this decision simply laughable, how on earth what this not given?
Anyone with eyes could see that this wasn’t deliberate, and when English is even on our side, that’s when you know something is wrong.
Thankfully, it didn’t matter in the end as Roofe fired home the winner.
