Aaron Ramsey sends Twitter message after Rangers win v Braga

Rangers have secured a 3-2 aggregate win against Braga at Ibrox to secure a passage into the Europa League semi-final in a pulsating clash on Thursday.

James Tavernier scored twice for the Gers, and Kemar Roofe added another in the extra time to secure a heroic win, taking the Gers into the last four of a European competition for the first time in the last 14 years.

Tavernier has scored six goals in the Europa League this season, proving his class once again.

Aaron Ramsey, who started the game, took to Twitter to share his reaction. He wrote: “Into the semis. Come on the Rangers.”

Great performances

There were some outstanding individual performances from the home team.

Braga defenders had no clue how to deal with Borna Barisic, while the likes of Joe Aribo and Kemar Roofe were simply outstanding.

It was an intense game throughout and Rangers players looked tired towards the end after having two goals disallowed.

Scott Arfield was teed up in the box but he fluffed his shot as the chances kept the game alive. In the end, Roofe had to score and the Gers deservedly moved to the next round.

It was a dominant performance from the home side. Braga failed to muster a shot on target before the hour mark.

Aribo has been simply outstanding while Roofe has proved a point that he is more than capable of leading the line on the big stage.

The victory could serve as a big psychological boost for Rangers’ ahead of their crucial semi-final clash against Celtic in the Scottish Cup on Sunday at Hampden Park.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has shared his reaction to a “huge” development at Ibrox to come in April.
