Rangers want to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer – report
Rangers are among the clubs interested in signing Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale on a free transfer this summer, according to Sport.
The Welsh wizard moved to the Bernabeu for a then-world record fee of £85m back in 2013 but has never won the fans over despite some spectacular performances, and will leave at the end of his contract this summer.
With Wales on the brink of qualifying for the Qatar World Cup, Bale’s priority is said to be maintaining fitness ahead of the tournament and that means regular game time.

According to the Spanish press there are at least six clubs interested in taking the 33-year-old away from Spain, with Rangers among them.
Championship club Cardiff, his hometown, are said to be leading the race and are closely followed by Tottenham. However Rangers, AC Milan, Newcastle and MLS clubs are also in the race for his signature.
Wow
At one point in time there was an argument that Bale was the best player in the world, with his wand of a left foot and incredible physical attributes.
He’s not at that level anymore, but he has shown in the most recent international break that he is still world class and has the ability to be a game-changing signing for any club.

Rangers would likely look to convince him to sign by using Aaron Ramsey as an example of what they can do for him, with Bale’s international teammate playing himself back into form during a loan spell at Ibrox this season.
There’s also the potential that Ramsey stays at the club on a permanent deal, with Juventus not wanting him around, which could see the two play together at all levels.
It would be an absolute blockbuster deal and no matter how this season ends, it would be a huge momentum swinger in their favour if they sign Bale for the title race next season.
