Michael Bridge makes damning Rangers v Braga prediction

Michael Bridge fears it could be the end of the road for Rangers in the Europa League as they prepare for their second-leg quarter-final clash against Braga this Evening [April 14].

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side welcomes the Primeira Liga outfit to Ibrox as they look to overturn the 1-0 deficit suffered last week in Portugal.

The Sky Sports presenter believes the absence of star man Alfredo Morelos will see the Gers knocked out by the end of the night.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: “If Alfredo Morelos was playing I’d say yes [they will turn it around]. He’s good in Europe, very good in Europe. But I just fear it might be one round too many for them.

“I hope I’m wrong, but Morelos is a big loss for them.”

Insulting.

Of course, having Morelos out injured for one of the biggest games of the season is a massive hindrance.

Kemar Roofe will most likely start up top for the Light Blues and whilst he is a very capable player, he is levels behind the Columbian who on his day can win a game all by himself.

Take nothing away from this Rangers team though. They haven’t been carried here by Morelos, they have earned it.

The whole squad has played their part in reaching this stage of the competition. They haven’t beaten Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade thanks to luck which makes Bridge’s comments slightly insulting.

With that being said, the Bears haven’t had to come from behind in the second leg of a Europa League knockout tie yet this season which does pose a new challenge for them.

Hopefully, they can use what will be an electric Ibrox crowd to their advantage to win the tie and reach the next round where only one team will stand in their way of the final.
