BBC Pundit Rory Loy: Kemar Roofe has got to turn up for Rangers v Braga

Rory Loy has sent a major pre-match warning to Kemar Roofe ahead of Rangers showdown with Braga this evening.

The BBC pundit insists that the striker has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks, and admitted he should have started the first leg.

Roofe smashed in a hat-trick against St Mirren last time out in the perfect preparation for the second leg at Ibrox.

Speaking to the BBC as shared on their blog pre-match, Loy sent a big warning to the Jamaican international.

“It was harsh to leave Kemar Roofe out of it,” he said.

“If an Old Firm derby passes you by, as it did for Roofe, you can’t avoid criticism, but he should have played from the start on Thursday.

“For a few weeks he has cut a frustrated figure. He won’t feel as much pressure to deliver having scored a hat-trick on Sunday. He has got to turn up tonight.”

Big call.

There were plenty of huge decisions in this starting XI.

It looks as though Giovanni van Bronckhorst has got every single one of them spot on too, with Roofe taking the spot of Fashion Sakala.

Aaron Ramsey was another man who has been called on massively after he sat out of the first leg completely over in Portugal.

Roofe has to run the lines and the channels perfectly, with the Braga defence showing last week they have little agility or pace.

Sakala failed to do that despite having the pace to burn, and that is likely a big reason behind him being left out this time around.

Fingers crossed we can get this done, let’s do it for Alfredo Morelos.
