Tam McManus raves about Rangers forward Kemar Roofe
Tam McManus has labelled Rangers striker Kemar Roofe as a “decent” player, suggesting he has got to prove.
Roofe scored a hat-trick against St Mirren on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership and he will be looking to make a strong impact against Braga.
Rangers are trailing by 1-0 from the first leg, but they are confident of turning it around at Ibrox on Thursday.

McManus told PLZ Sport: “He’s the number one striker. He obviously showed yesterday (Sunday) that he can score goals.
“He’s different from Morelos. He wants to come to the ball, he wants crosses into the box. Morelos can spin in and run behind so they’re different types of players but I think he’s a decent player.”
“He has got to prove on the big stage. He’s got to prove against Braga and at the weekend in the semi-final.”
Big occasion
Giovanni van Bronckhorst dropped Roofe from the starting line-up against Braga in the first leg, and used Fashion Sakala instead.
The decision backfired as Sakala failed to make an impact. Sakala brings tremendous pace upfront but he proved to be ineffective against Braga.
McManus is absolutely spot on here. Alfredo Morelos is a different class, but Rangers have to move on as the Colombian won’t be playing anymore this season.

Roofe has proved to be an able deputy for Morelos, as he brings tactical flexibility to the side.
However, he has shown that he can be a match-winner after scoring a hat-trick in the last game.
The Gers need to score against Braga, and all eyes will be on Roofe this Thursday.
Van Bronckhorst will be happy to see Joe Aribo returning to form after he scored a cracking goal in the last game.
In other Rangers news, Charlie Nicholas has raged at some members of the Gers’ board while predicting the outcome of Thursday’s game against Braga.
