Ally McCoist looks ahead to ‘Unbelievable’ Rangers showdowns with Celtic, let’s Kenny Dalglish off hook

Ally McCoist has looked ahead to an “unbelievable” couple of Rangers showdowns with Celtic coming up in the next month.

The Bears icon has let Kenny Dalglish off the hook after he insisted there was more pressure on the blue side of Glasgow.

McCoist admitted he loved that the pressure is said to be on Rangers, and he will hope that brings out the best in them.

Speaking live on talkSPORT this morning [12 April], McCoist looked ahead to another huge couple of weeks.

“I love the fact we say there’s more pressure on Rangers, these games are unbelievable, they really are,” he said.

“I can let Kenny off because he’s the best because he’s Kenny.”

Unbelievable.

This is when we are really going to find out what this team is made of.

Not only is there the huge second leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Braga on Thursday, but two games with Celtic are fastly approaching again.

These players have been accused of slacking off in recent weeks, with injuries to the likes of Alfredo Morelos used as an excuse far too many times.

If you can’t get up for a month ahead like this, then you don’t deserve to be at Ibrox, it is as simple as that.

Beating Celtic in a major cup semi-final at Hampden Park and then sweeping them aside in their own back garden has to be the motivation.

If both of those things happen, we could find ourselves favourites for the league and cup double – but, that appears far away right now.
